It celebrates the second anniversary of marriage and is known as the “commitment stone”. The stone inheritedits name from a 14th"century middle English word, ‘Gernet’ meaning deep red but also originates from a Latin word ‘Pommum Granatum’ (pomegranate) because of its likeness to the fruit’s seeds.
