Pale in colour this form of quartz crystal has been heat treated to give it its colour. Not only is this charming stone a magnificent visual feast but it is said to have energetic powers and healing properties. The name comes from the Koine Greek ‘amethystos’, meaning ‘intoxicate’, a reference to the belief that the stone protected its wearer from becoming drunk.
