Green Agate, a translucent deep green gemstone consisting of chalcedony and quartz as its primary mineral components. Agate is named after the Achates River which is now called The Dirillo. Located in the Mediterranean on the Island of Sicily, it was an ancient source of the gemstone. Egyptians made jewellery out of Green Agate up to 3000 years ago and throughout history it has been known to have energetic healing properties.
